Bridal Veil Lodging
What two seasons of listings taught us about photography

We re-shot four of the six homes in the portfolio after one season. Here is what we learned.

The single biggest mistake we made in our first season was shooting homes on beautiful blue-sky days.

Blue-sky photography sells Mediterranean villas. It does not sell mountain homes. The light is too even; the interior feels cold; the home looks staged. We now shoot in weather — snow falling, light snow, low cloud, twilight.

A house photographed in weather looks like a place you would actually stay.
