Mountain Village sits at 9,540 feet — 1,000 feet above the town of Telluride, connected to it by the free gondola that runs daily. It is where Telluride Ski Resort has its base operations, its mountain restaurants, and most of its ski-in ski-out real estate. For serious skiers, staying here removes every friction: you step from the front door onto the snow, ski all day, and step back inside from the snow.

The Village Core has the kind of infrastructure that supports a longer stay without a car: grocery store, restaurants (La Marmotte is the place for a proper dinner after a ski day), espresso, a medical clinic, ski rental shops, and the gondola terminal that puts you in downtown Telluride in twelve minutes. For families with children in ski school, the base operations are immediately adjacent to the resort.

In summer, Mountain Village changes character entirely. The skiers leave, the trails open, and the gondola runs as a hiker and biker lift. The Village Trail network is 25 miles of singletrack that start in town and climb into the Village. The San Sophia Overlook, a short walk from the gondola terminal, has a view of the Wilson Range that stops most people before they reach the bench.

Architecture in Mountain Village runs contemporary alpine — stone, timber, glass, south-facing. Homes here were designed with the mountain in mind, and nearly every living room has a view of ski terrain or high ridgeline. Our Mountain Village homes include Cassidy Ridge, a ski-in / walk-out residence steps from the slopes, and Crystal Ridge, a four-bedroom cabin with a private hot tub.

The tradeoff with Mountain Village is real: you are on the mountain, not in the town. Colorado Avenue's particular energy — the Victorian storefronts, the live music spilling out of bars during Bluegrass, the farmer's market — is twelve minutes away on the gondola. For some guests, that distance is exactly right. For others, it is one gondola ride too many. We are honest about this difference when guests ask.
