Good to know

About these stays

Ski access in Telluride is not one thing. Some Mountain Village homes connect to a run; some are a short walk in boots to a lift; in town, the gondola and Lift 7 are the way up. Every home below carries the access its owner and our team have confirmed, written the same way on its own page.

If the route matters to your group, read it before you look at the photos, and ask us about the return at the end of the day: the way home is sometimes different from the way out.

Common questions

Questions people ask before they book.

What does ski-in / walk-out mean?
You can ski back to the home at the end of the day, and in the morning you walk a short distance to a lift or run. A home described as ski-in / ski-out lets you do both on skis. Each listing says which it is.
Can you ski down into the Town of Telluride?
Yes. Runs come down to the town base at Lift 7 and to the Oak Street gondola station, and the free gondola links town and Mountain Village in about 13 minutes, so a ski day can start or end in either place.
Is ski access the same all season?
No. The lower runs depend on snow, and in early and late season the route to a home's door may not be open. Tell us your dates and we say what is open.
Where do we keep skis and boots?
Each listing says whether the home has a ski room or boot warmers. If you would rather not carry gear, our concierge can have rentals delivered and fitted at the home.
Do we need a car for a ski trip?
For Mountain Village, usually not: the gondola and the free village shuttles cover most of it. Our guide to Telluride without a car goes through the details.
