The Telluride Film Festival takes over the town’s theaters and halls for the long weekend, and the schedule is kept secret until the day before it starts. A home in town means a short walk between venues; Mountain Village means a quieter base with the gondola doing the commuting.

Because the program is not announced in advance, people come for the whole weekend. Plan on arriving by Thursday and leaving Monday or Tuesday.
